About Work Experience
In the fall and spring semesters of Grade 11 and Grade 12, students are required to complete Work Experience Placements. Students do not attend regular classes during these periods and are available to work any time.

Requirements for Participation
1 / Safety
Student are provided with safe working conditions and are not exposed to any unreasonable or unlawful risk or dangers on the work site.
2 / Access & Communication
Communication channels and/or access is kept open to regularly touch base and assess student progress.
3 / Assessment
A brief assessment regarding the students' performance is provided upon completing the Work Experience Placement.

At L.Y. Cairns School, our dedicated staff are committed to supporting both students and employers to ensure a successful and rewarding Work Experience Placement. We maintain regular communication, whether in person or through phone calls, to monitor progress and address any concerns or needs that may arise.
